TOP 20 SHOWDOWN STORY:
In 2007, Kasey Baisch & Jon Stringfellow led the field to the green. Third place starter Dan Fitzgerald took the early lead. On the second circuit there was a mishap between Mickey Stubbings and Dennis Durmas in turn #2. Which ended Durmas's night. No caution. Dan Fitzgerald had to fight challenges from 2007 Wild West Modified Tour champion and Colorado's Jeep Berry. Caution #1 came out with Dwain McCarty spinning out in turn #2. During that caution the eight time tour feature winner Ricky Alvarado pulled off with drive line problems. Which he ended with a eighteenth place finish. That put Jeep Berry in second place with about 8 laps to go. The green flew as Fitzgerald led Berry. Berry got around Fitzgerald for the lead. Once Berry got out front there was no way of catching Jeep. Colorado's Robert Gallegos was running about in the fifth position and hit the tire at the bottom of the track. He kept it going though. The last lap led to a great battle between 3 time Western Region champion Dan Fitzgerald and Tour runner up Ryan Dimick. On the last lap Dimick went from the high side to the low side to pass Fitzgerald in turn 3. Coming to the checkers, Fitzgerald tried to get around Utah's Ryan Dimick for second but did not have enough. Jeep Berry won the race from the twelth starting position.
