The Wild West Modified Tour was formed in December of 2006 in Grand Junction, Colorado at a meeting at Hanson International. The tour was thought of in mid-2006. The tour was formed to give racers in the Rocky Mountain and Western Region a chance to travel to different tracks throughout the region by Ken Hansen of Myton, Utah. The series decided to sanction IMCA for a rule package. The series traveled to seven different tracks in five different states in 2007. Tracks in Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming were already sanctioned IMCA and held a WWMT race in 2007. In 2008, The WWMT expanded to Nevada and a couple of three day races in Nevada and Idaho. New tracks came aboard and one fell out. In 2009, The series was divided into two series known as the Northern and Southern Series. The Southern Series held races in Arizona and California while the Northern Series held races in Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. In 2010, the Southern Series was canceled and the Northern Series scheduled some races. |
